Fabian Schar is doubtful for these football predictions, after the defender went off in injury time at the end of Newcastle’s defeat to Liverpool last weekend. DeAndre Yedlin is out after having surgery in America, while Sean Longstaff and Florian Lejeune are both out with knee injuries. Miguel Almiron is also out with a hamstring problem.

Fulham vs Newcastle prediction, preview and betting tips

Both of these teams have been playing quite well recently, but it’s all been too late for Fulham. The Cottagers only started winning once they were relegated, while Newcastle are 11 points ahead of the bottom three after a tough season. Both teams are looking to finish on a high, so who’s going to come out on top in this Fulham v Newcastle prediction?

The Cottagers are looking for their third straight home win on Sunday. They’ve beaten Everton and Cardiff City, with a win away to Bournemouth in between. The Whites only lost 1-0 at Wolves last weekend, but they were outplayed for most of the game. Parker has put himself into the frame to get the permanent Fulham job for next season, and he’ll be desperate to get another win to boost his chances.

Rafael Benitez, on the other hand, is in charge of his own destiny at Newcastle. The Spaniard’s contract is up this summer though, and this could be his last game in charge. He wants a team that’s going places rather than surviving, so this is a big summer for Newcastle. Benitez has done well with little investment, and pushed title-chasing Liverpool all the way at the weekend. The Magpies lost 3-2 to Divock Origi’s 86th-minute header though, and couldn’t equalise for a third time.

This is a tough game to call, as neither team has much to play for. Newcastle can climb or drop one place, while Fulham know where they’re finishing. Neither team have been big scorers this season, while Newcastle are missing their record signing Almiron. He’s improved them up front, so we’re going to back against both teams to score predictions at 11/8 with Betfred.

Fulham’s last four games have all seen under 2.5 goals, while six of Newcastle’s last seven games have seen under 2.5 goals. The same again on Sunday is 11/10 in your Fulham vs Newcastle betting tips. Fulham have been in good form at home in recent games, and you can add them to that as the winners for 5/1 with Betway.

The Cottagers have won three of their last four games against Newcastle, and playing quite well at the moment. Newcastle meanwhile have only won one of their last 10 away from home. The hosts are 15/4 to win to nil for the fourth time in their last five games, and 10/1 to win 1-0 in your football score predictions. If you want football tips with big odds, you can add Ryan Babel getting the only goal of the game for 30/1.

Fulham vs Newcastle first goalscorer predictions

Babel has been impressive since joining Fulham in January. He scored an absolute screamer in the Cottagers’ last home match against Cardiff, and was on target in the one before against Everton. The Dutchman has five goals in 15 Premier League games for the Whites, and is 13/2 with bet365 in the first goalscorer odds for this game. Ayoze Perez meanwhile has seven goals in his last eight games, and is 7/1 with the same bookmaker to score first. The Spanish forward is 33/1 to get the only goal of the game.

Score prediction: Fulham 1-0 Newcastle
